More nostalgia
The changing decor inside the Club may be appreciated by studying the various photographs included in this archive.
Unfortunately we do not have a picture of the ‘post’ which separated the main room from the small ’snug’. There had of course been two separate rooms originally. Later the ‘main room’ was further divided by enclosing the snooker room.
The rather dark photo ( from the Trewavas Day event in 2003 ) shows the exposed wiring inside that snooker room, the doors having been removed , partly for the Trewavas event and also in readiness for the forthcoming refurbishment.
Do you remember the blue, cushioned corner seating bench, the trophy display cabinet, the oval card table?
The wall to the right was part of the partition to the snooker room. The trophies were handed back to the last named winners—and where they could not be traced or were not forthcoming– the trophies were boxed and deposited in the storage space above the passageway to the ‘Ladies’ refurbished toilet area
The clean, fresh ‘main room’ complete with new flooring and carpets added after the bar refurbishment was completed
