The possibility of staging a British Legion Activities Week was discussed—with eg bands, choir, swimming, regatta, skiffle etc
( One wonders whether this could have been the embryo of Carnival Week ?)
Discussion concerning an honorarium for the honorary barman— decision postponed until next meeting
Oct Above decision again postponed until next meeting Nov Accounts show profit of £22.9s.4d
Honorarium of £5 approved for payment to Mr Henry Corin for his excellent stewardship
Dec The ‘Ladies Section’ had already become very actively involved and offered to organise the children’s Christmas party.
The Women’s Section had already set up its Building Fund Account Christmas gratuities were agreed :-
draymen 5 shillings
cleaner 30 shillings
others 2 shillings and sixpence
Mr W A Gartrell was appointed as Standard Bearer for the Club Poppy Day collection of £54 to be forwarded to BL HQ
