It is interesting to note that the emphasis throughout those early years was with social activities.
Legion business was carried out but without special emphasis.
This reflects the essential difference between Branch ( Legion ) and Club ( social ) which many members find difficult to understand.
In the period from 1950 to 1969, the chairman was Arnold Gartrell
Detailed minutes now began to appear and show that although the structure of the building remained unchanged apart from occasional redecoration, events and entertainment, fees, staffing, discipline, bar prices etc. were the main items on the committee’s agenda.
Not much has changed over the years !
